OCEAN CENSUS EXPLAINER FILM
OceanCensus aims to be the largest programme in history to discover ocean life.
For the launch in April 2023 we filmed and edited an explainer film on how Ocean Census will work presented by former BBC Science Editor, David Shukman.
Ocean Census is a global initiative launched by Nekton in partnership with The Nippon Foundation and many other ocean partners aiming to discover and protect ocean life to sustain and benefit all life on Earth, for generations to come.

THE NEKTON MALDIVES MISSION
Video East was very proud to have helped visualise the first deep-sea exploration of the Indian Ocean around the Maldives by international and Maldivian scientists down to 1000 metres
As well as shooting promotional footage for Nekton and its partners, including Oxford University, Video East filmed news features, 'as-lives', and interviews for and used by BBC Earth, Our Frozen Planet, Sky UK, Channel 4, Al Jazeera, EuroNews and over 200 broadcasters worldwide
INTO THE DEEP August - October 2022
As Director of Photography for the Mission, Tim Curtis supplied a wide range of cameras and drones to film background features and the expedition's key moments - from above and below the water line.
After 5 weeks at sea, the Mission's scientists believe they have discovered a new eco-system that they are calling 'The Trapping Zone'
